MSS General FYI - VIP
MustSeeStrongman.com (MSS) is a division of Cruthers Enterprises LLC. The Strongman Store is where we (MSS) conduct our ecommerce. The Strongman Store utilizes SSL technology via Authorize.net to provide our customers with the highest levels of online security. The Strongman Forum is also a part of MSS.
When either the "Forum" or "Store" links are clicked on from the main menu at the top of the MSS pages, a new browser window will be opened. The User ID & Passwords for the main web site (MSS), the Forum, and the Store (when applicable) will not be the same. You will be assigned unique login credentials for the main web site (MSS), while being able to create/modify your own credentials in both the Forum and Store.
It is very important when making purchases in the Strongman Store that you use the same First Name, Last Name, and Email Address. Not doing so will require MSS Tech Support to either give you access to an Online Video you just purchased or manually upgrading your membership to Premium Status. This may take up to 48 hours to resolve.
Technical Info & System Requirements
1) Windows Media Player (the newer the better)
2) Lots of free space on your PC's hard drive
3) High-speed Internet connection (Cable, DSL, T1, etc.)
4) Internet Explorer (the newer the better) Other browsers such as Firefox may work fine, but the site is geared towards IE.
5) A good rule of thumb is that if your computer is 5+ years old...you may experience problems. You need sufficient disc space, RAM, and a decent video card for best performance. If you cannot watch videos on the Internet already, it is likely that MSS Online Videos won′t work either.
6) You may be prompted to "Download and/or Run Active X Control". So, go ahead and do it. This allows you to play the videos that are part of the web page rather than those that open in Windows Media Player. There is usually a bar that drops down near the top of the Internet Explorer window. Left-click on it and choose "Run Active X Control"
7) Contact Tech Support for assistance if you are ready to toss your computer into the street.

Best Practices for Online Video Downloads
1) Read the Technical Info & System Requirements
2) Choose "Save" rather than "Open" when downloading
videos from the Member Home page. Then, open the
video from your PC to view it.
3) A single event (strongman competition) may consist of
several online video downloads (ie parts). Member′s
should make sure their PC has adequate free space to
store them. Video file sizes will
range from 50MB to 300MB.
Common Techy Questions & Answers
Q) Why don't you stream your videos?
A) Because neither you nor we could afford it.
The requirements for streaming video involve file
storage space, data rates, digital rights management
licensing, etc. would more than triple the cost of doing
business for MSS, which then would at least triple the
cost to you.
Q) Can I enlarge the video size?
A) Yes. Some PCs/OSs allow you to double click on a
video that is embedded in a web page. As for the
online video downloads that open a media player, you
may either right-click on the video to choose a larger
view or double-click on the video for full-screen. Like a
TV, if you are viewing it up close it will not be very
Clear. If you move back, it becomes better. For the
online video downloads, setting the media player to
200%, which increases the screen from 320x240 to
640x480 looks pretty good sitting 3-4 feet away from
the monitor.
Q) Why doesn't MSS increase the video size of their
online video downloads to 640x480?
A) Because the file sizes of the downloads do not
proportionately increase. A 15 minute video at
640x480 would be about 225MB. A 15 minute video
at 320x240 is about 60MB. This is primarily due to
the fact that the larger the video size, the higher
the data rate needs to be. Therefore, the storage
space required on the server plus the additional
production times would increase significantly, which
would in turn increase the costs to both MSS and you.
